About Brillante Academy
Brillante Academy Public Charter School opened its doors in August 2023. In our fourth year, we will have Pre-K3 through 4th grade and serve over 530 students from the Rio Grande Valley in the Mission area and surrounding communities in its first year. We will continue to grow one grade-level a year until 8th grade. Over the next decade, we plan to expand our network across the state of Texas to serve over 7,000 students. The Charter Management Organization (CMO) for Brillante Academy is Seton Education Partners, a Catholicly inspired organization that also manages the Seton Teaching Fellows missionary program and El Camino, an optional after-school Catholic faith formation program. Seton Education Partners is also the CMO for our sister schools, the Brilla Schools Network, which are having a transformational impact in Bronx, NY.

Position Overview
We are looking for a mission-driven leader who has an unwavering belief in the limitless potential of ALL students and a proven track record of building strong systems, leading teams, and executing operational excellence in service of students and families. The Assistant Principal of Operations leads the vision, implementation, and continuous improvement of school operations systems to ensure runs smoothly, safely, joyfully, and efficiently each day.
The Assistant Principal of Operations directs and facilitates all operational functions of the campus, including enrollment and registration, attendance systems, front office operations, family experience, campus logistics, safety and compliance, facilities, food service coordination, transportation coordination, technology systems, and operational event execution. This role manages and develops a 10 person Operations Team. Through systems creation, project management, coaching, and accountability, the Assistant Principal of Operations builds the operational foundation necessary for strong student achievement, staff effectiveness, and an exceptional family experience.
Working in close partnership with the Principal and Instructional Leadership Team, the Assistant Principal of Operations is directly responsible for implementing and continuously improving operational systems that maximize instructional time, strengthen school culture, and support Brillante’s ambitious goals for student achievement and character formation. The Assistant Principal of Operations sits on the Brillante Leadership Team and is managed, coached, and supported by the Brillante Executive Director. The primary objectives of this role include:
- Coaching, managing, and developing the Operations Team to ensure strong execution, responsiveness, hospitality, and accountability across all operational functions
- Designing, implementing, and continuously improving day-to-day operational systems and standard operating procedures that create an organized, safe, efficient, and joyful school environment
- Leading and strengthening the family experience through excellent systems for enrollment, registration, communication, events, attendance outreach, and family partnership
- Ensuring compliance with all operational requirements, including student records, attendance, immunizations, PEIMS, student wellness documentation, food program reporting, budget management procedures, audits, and other local, state, federal, and charter reporting requirements
In pursuit of these objectives, your typical week would include a variety of tasks such as:
- Developing and managing day-to-day operational systems and procedures to ensure the school runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently
- Leading enrollment, registration, onboarding, and student records processes to ensure families have a seamless and welcoming experience
- Monitoring enrollment, attendance, and persistence data and partnering with school leaders on strategies to maximize student attendance and retention
- Overseeing front office operations and ensuring all family interactions reflect Brillante’s mission, values, and commitment to hospitality
- Managing arrival, dismissal, lunch, transitions, duty schedules, and campus supervision systems to maximize instructional time and ensure student safety
- Coordinating operational logistics for assessments, school events, family events, field lessons, student celebrations, performances, and other campus activities
- Building and refining systems, trackers, calendars, and workflows that improve operational efficiency and organizational effectiveness
- Conducting regular check-ins, coaching, and accountability conversations with operations team members to ensure strong execution and continuous growth
- Supporting hiring, onboarding, training, and development of operations staff
- Overseeing campus safety systems, emergency procedures, drills, visitor management, and crisis response preparation
- Ensuring compliance with all operational requirements, including student records, attendance, immunizations, PEIMS-related operational processes, and other state and charter reporting requirements
- Managing facilities systems to ensure classrooms and campus spaces are clean, organized, prepared, and conducive to joyful learning
- Coordinating maintenance requests, vendor relationships, repairs, operational inventory, and campus readiness projects
- Overseeing technology systems, operational supplies, and equipment management across the campus
- Collaborating with the Principal and Instructional Leadership Team to strengthen schoolwide systems, culture, communication, and operational execution
- Building strong relationships with families through proactive communication, responsiveness, and problem-solving
- Contributing to school-wide efforts, including school culture, hiring, events, student recruitment, and day-to-day operations
- Planning time effectively to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines while radically focusing on the highest impact priorities
- Learning and continuously developing your leadership and operational practice to deepen your impact
- Serving as an active member of the leadership team always striving to bring the perspectives of our students, families, and staff members to the table
Qualifications
- Belief in the Brillante Academy mission, model, and values
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
- At least three years of leadership, operations, or project management experience with evidence of strong execution and organizational leadership
- At least three years of experience coaching and managing others, with evidence of developing others to achieve strong results
- Experience serving on a school leadership team strongly preferred
- Strong project management, systems-building, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Verbal and written fluency in Spanish required
